Description
Need to cover the ground quickly in sun or shade? Meet Asian Jasmine, also called Asiatic Jasmine, a fast growing, very dense, trailing groundcover plant that tolerates both the blazing full sun to nearly total shade. The small, oval-shaped evergreen leaves are rich green in color and very shiny. Weeds will have a tough time growing through this dense carpet of handsome foliage and it’s a perfect choice for under large shade trees and on embankments.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing 8 to 12 inches tall and vigorously spreading to 5 feet or more in width, Asian Jasmine is a ideal for use as a groundcover and soil stabilizer for erosion control on sunny or shady embankments, hillsides and slopes. Because it thrives in shade, it is perfect for use under the canopies of large shade trees, decks or other overhead structures. Unless you don’t mind frequent pruning to keep the plant in bounds, avoid planting in small spaces where the plant cannot be confined. Excellent for use as a spiller plant in container gardens and hanging baskets.
Spacing: 18 to 24 inches apart for groundcover

Note: For our customers who live and garden north of USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 6a, where Asian Jasmine is not reliably winter hardy, you’ll be happy to know it can be grown in containers that can be brought indoors during winter and placed back outside when temperatures warm up in spring.
Growing Preferences
Asian Jasmine is exceptionally easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil of average fertility, including clay, and full sun or shade. It will tolerate temporary flooding but does not like a constantly soggy or wet soil. Established plants are very drought tolerant.

Loved these little plants, lots of foliage, not root bound at all and easy to come out the containers. I have a large, shaded spot, looking forward to that being covered quickly.———————————————–We are so glad you are pleased and we hope you enjoy them for years to come!
